I've been trying to find moments of time the past few weeks to work on my business website, business blog (which I'm hoping to launch next week) and photos but extra time for this has been non-existent.
The past month or two I've been working on one or two weddings per week - this is the quickest wedding invite I've ever turned around!
Miriah lives back east and is a referral from a referral from another referral and so on and so on.....we've never met or talked on the phone before - all computer and email (which seems typical lately).
Design, printing, assembly and mailing in 4 weeks - phew!
She recently emailed me..."I love them so much thank you thank...I couldn't have done this without you"!! Nothing makes me happier than knowing I've helped create something beautiful for a bride that makes this time in her life that much sweeter! I love what I get to do!!
My life is very very blessed with many wonderful friends - friends from all over, friends from many walks of life and from many parts of my life both past and present.
Sometimes it's fun to mix them together and see what recipe you come up with.
This past weekend I did that and the recipe was FUN FUN FUN!
Top left and countin' it clockwise:
My BFF (yes she's still my BFF even after the scolding)
"Little One" (aka Melissa) a dear friend who's like a little sister, she's my BFF's sister's best friend who used to live with us and is now about to move back in next weekend...weeeee!
Tracie - another very close friend that I've known since she was 16 and I was her camp counselor - we have years and years of laughs and memories. I love this girl and love that we get to hang out all the time - especially with "the crew" just hanging in their backyard!!
Me - the sun was so bright it hurt to open my eyes all the way :)
KK - I never even call her by her really name anymore - Kristy. She got that nickname on our Bahamas cruise years ago when she is the one responsible for nicknaming Jodi - JoJo and me - AA. She has been a close friend for years but moved away when she got married and I simply don't get near enough time with her!!!
Well.....One of the hotels I've stayed at before in Las Vegas - the Green Valley Ranch - called me a couple weeks ago to come out for a free comped weekend and a Hawaiian Luau. How could I resist - even my meals were free!
So we packed up my little black roller skate and headed East.
Kickin' it poolside on one of their king size lounge sofas....the weather was absolutely amazing this weekend!
There was an amzing sunset while we were at the Luau....such a gorgeous Sat evening with good friends and TONS of laughs and a fun party with awesome food!!!
P.S. Melissa taught us the hands on the hip thing when you're at the end of the picture row and you don't want big arms - something tells me it only looks cute on her though??!!
Jodi and I miss KK terribly - we were an awesome trio when we all lived in SCV....that was until Dave swept her away and they moved to Mesquite, NV. The good thing is that it's only 70 miles North of Vegas so a trip to Vegas always means time with KK whether we travel further to her house or if she can get away and meet us in Vegas for some girl time!
Love you KK - I miss you so much but cherish whatever time we get to spend together!! Hugs to you and we'll be seeing you on your turf very soon!
A few of us girls planned many fun things this summer our "Summer Escapes" - inexpensive fun half days or day things to do so a free weekend was a welcome addition to our summer escapes! I'm so glad it worked out last minute and that we were all able to get away for a weekend together and had a ton of fun! We missed you Kailey :(.
I was scolded I mean yelled at, hollered at, teased, joked, tarred and feathered I mean it was brutal.....(okay the tar and feathers isn't true)
She said "where's my face" which made me think of that commercial with the little 'ol lady and the golden arches who was begging for her beef?! I was like "there was a clever theme to the camping photos, it was kids only I mean I didn't think I was offending any adults by not posting their faces"....wrong!
So here's her face..............
(the one on the left - my BFF or at least before the scolding happened)
Please don't forget this face - you know how I feel about feathers..............
I mean how often do you get that from adults - where's my pic?
Sometimes you get this....
like "don't you dare take my picture"
Tracie didn't say that - the finger point was just her way of saying "howdy" and of course her version of sunscreen - a red shirt. You should try it sometime I think it worked!
And another of my BFF (just to make her happy) this one she's about to feed her face....
Meet JoJo and Mr. Dough Boy!
BTW - have you ever had a dough boy? Oh my goodness oh my goodness!
Thanks to the Hartung Family - think toasty biscuit on a stick browned to perfection over the fire.
I personally think it's the adult version of a Smore.
You take a biscuit - experts say the bigger biscut the better it works- something like "king or country" ones or something - and you put it on the end of your closet rod that you have cut into 3rds to make 3 sticks (the pros called them dowels but I'm pretty sure Steve just left their clothes laying on the floor and stole the rods from their closets).
You gently brown it over the fire, continually turning the stick - the experts say there's an art I just aimed for not burning it. When it comes off the stick easily your biscuit is baked to perfection!
Then you fill it with anything and everything you can think of. Here's what was found in them on our camping trip:
strawberry jelly, apple pie filling, chocolate pudding, bananas, vanilla pudding, apricot something, cherry pie filling, whipped cream and then some more whipped cream, eggs, bacon (not with the whipped cream of course), nutella, and I'm sure I'm missing a ton of ingredients.
They were yummy let me tell ya - I mean after a dinner of Tri-tip and Deb's homemades beans I still managed to eat 2 of these....ugh!
But honestly......who could resist this face?
I know it's random but I had to include this photo of sweet Kate - mainly because I want to clone those lashes!!!
