I met Lisa and Joe (actually I've never met them they live on the East Coast) through my friend Shannon's sister, who is also named Lisa - Lisa and Lisa are best friends. I have made Christmas cards and birthday invites for Lisa #1 for a few years now and then when her best friend, Lisa #2 , got engaged a year and a half ago, she contacted me to work with her...I am blessed!
They have been a joy to work with every step of the way. I have had the priviledge of doing so many of their wedding elements: engagement announcements, save the dates, special invites for her bridesmaids, invites for her bridal showers and the wedding invitations.
Their Save the Dates are still one of my most favorite designs I've done to-date - I just love them!
Then came the wedding invite - Lisa wanted as much wow factor as possible. I think we achieved it for her!
These invites have been my biggest order yet. Not just the number of invites but the amount of pieces to this invite - 21 pieces, 3 different versions and 3 different guest lists!!! Normally the production on these would be about 3 weeks but for her, I was able to pull this off in a record 6 days! But not without the help of my dear friends, Ashley, Melissa, Mama O, Grandma Pat, my BFF and the "dot girls" (Kailey and Angela)! You guys rock!!!
I always talk about going to the beach but I'm always a big talker!
For a few weeks now it's come up that we should go and so this past weekend a few of us did - especially with this heat lately it was perfect timing to get away for the day!
We packed some lunches and headed off to Carpinteria for the day. I love this beach - so so so many fun childhood memories there.
Every summer as a kid, the WACOS would go camping (the women and children only camping club). My mom even made T-shirst for all of us with the name WACO on it - and those moms were WACO! We went every June for a week, sometimes in August and spring break too and those weeks are some of my greatest memories of summer as a kid. It was just the moms and kids all week and then the dads were allowed up on weekends only.
When I was there last Saturday I was thinking why don't I come here more often? It's such an easy drive and such a great little town.
We hung out at the beach for most of the day and then headed to the Spot for dinner!! :)
I was there I promise - see those are my feet in the sand and I have a sunburn on my back to prove.
Of course we were so full from dinner but we still managed to stop at Foster's on the way home....now that is a memory only when I was young we always walked to Foster's from the campground.
Ashley had been wanting to get away to the beach too so she packed up baby Jackson for his first trip to the beach!!!
He was distracted by everything going on that he didn't sleep much there but I think he had a ton of fun in the sun (well under the umbrella of course)!
P.S. I'm addicted to collages can you tell! It's Emily's fault and I blame her completely...I'm like that always passin' the blame!
Do you ever live with an annoyance, a pet peeve, something that drives you absolutely nutty but for some reason instead of fixing it, taking care of it, doing whatever you need to do to stop the buggin' you let it go and before you know it you become used to it??!!! I do!
Remember my kitchen faucet that leaked - no not just a leak....the water spewed out more powerful than the sprayer itself!!!
You see our water in these here parts stinks - it's hard yucky water and so my beautiful bronze finish faucet is no more. Bye bye faucet I didn't get even 3 years outta ya!
I kept a towel over the sprayer for weeks (okay months - it's a MAN CHORE and you know how I feel about those) so you could stand at the sink without getting soaked. I finally bought a new faucet but since this was going to be the 3rd one and in keeping with the budget I decided not spend a ton of money. I thought I was at least getting a nickel finish or so the box that I carefully picked out said it was.
But it wasn't :(. It's not pretty but it doesn't leak and it was cheap!!
As Tim, our handyman (aka Man-Chore-for-Hire) was taking it out of the box and I saw the chrome he said "are you sure you want to keep it?" I'm like afterall this time if I don't just replace it now who knows when I will.
