Color Quiz

Something just for fun because it's Friday and Friday is my favorite day of the week.

I saw this on another blog last week and had to take the quiz. You should too - simple fun is the name of the game.  Go here to take it.

As for my results.....Well let's just say I'm not sure I like their color palette and I'm all about color palettes.

They said I'm YELLOW - I mean YELLOW has to be one of my least favorite colors.  Reminds me of when I bought my house and had the painter paint my downstairs bathroom a pale Restoration Hardware-ish yellow only to have him paint over it immediately with another yellow and then have him paint it yet a 3rd time the same color as the family room.  I still have plans for it - it involves wall paper if I ever get around to it and can bribe my mom to help me (she's an expert at it). 

Anyway here is what dear YELLOW means:

No Pets Mommy!

So it's no secret and so hopefully doesn't come as a shock to anyone that no - I don't like animals.

I haven't for as long as I can remember.

Some think I'm mean and cruel and "how could you not like animals".

My answer is simple - I don't.  Kind of like how I don't like brussel sprouts - I don't.   And I don't like when people scrape their teeth on their fork - I don't.  I like that I have a choice about such things now that I'm a grown-up.....seeee Dad the table manners you taught me about scraping my teeth stuck!

Some don't get it and to those of  you that don't - sooorry! 

Then there's those that say "oh you would LOVE my dog or my cat or my koala bear..." or whatever THEIR pet happens to be.

I kindly say, I'm sure you love your pet and I'm sure they are wonderful but I promise you I won't and why put your favorite pet through such torture of introducing them to someone who is not going to like them anyway.  Why set them up for such rejection?

I mean if you had a llama eat off your ponytail....would you like animals?

If you were attacked my a possum outside your apartment door, only to have your friends Jeanine and Melanie scare you for days to come pretending to hiss like a possum....would you like animals?

If you had a bat get trapped under the hatch of your SUV and then fly towards your face and get so close that his wings moved your hair while you're putting your luggage in the car at 5am......would you like animals?  Cherie do you remember this dreaded morning when I almost made us miss our flight to Florida because I wouldn't go back out to me car?

If you had a Purple Martin bird swoop down and charge at your like you were a bullseye and peck your neck....would you like animals?

Trust me this choice to dislike animals started many years ago and while I was at my sisters a week ago I found proof as to how far back this dislike began.

Sorry friends but I don't know what it will take to win me back over to your side...and please don't say I'm going to marry a Vet - that's just not nice!

Sunday afternoon funnies

I have funny friends....

Last Sunday afternoon I was flat on the couch with a headache trying to snore, even though my snores kept waking me up. 

Headaches.  I don't like them one bit and lately they have visited more than I like.

Every now and then I would open my eyes though

Not that this seated position by the fire in front of their computers isn't typical for these 2 girls but on this particular day they were definitely focused.

Focused on something that had me rather suspicious.

But then the headache and I would close my eyes and ignore.

But the laughter...how can I ignore the laughter?

And what I am missing out on??

Or am I?

Not fair!

I feel so left out or do I?  Headache.  No I don't.

P.S. my pictures are so out of focus - well my fireplace is sure in focus, the girls no....sort of like my brain that day totally out of focus.  Love me anyway please.

Cookies I mean really?

There was also Java Chip ice cream - hands down the best ice cream ever invented!

Headache and my eyes close again......and was for once thankful to have a headache and an excuse so that I didn't have anything to do with what they were up to.

Silly girls.  Thank you headache....but just this once.

Weeeee fun times!

While we were at my parents we had alot of fun...well before the machine was running in full speed (aka my sister)!  More about the machine later.....I'm still trying to have some fun and not remember my sore back and feet!

My mom and dad bought Marcus this bike and he knows it's at Grammy and Papa's and he looks forward to riding it every time they are up there.....Sophia can even ride it but then again that girl is fearless!

Marcus was riding around cracking himself up on this bike while little miss princess couldn't step away from her mirror for a minute

And I had 2 choices:

1) Go to the back of the house where the machine will no doubt put to me heavy labor work (even though I had just slaved over a stove cooking the whole fam a giant farm-like breakfast - no they don't live on a farm thankgoodness.....).

2) Play with Marcus and Sophia and pretend to be babysitting.....

clearly I opted for the pretend babysit option...this ain't just a hat rack!

Marcus and I laughed so hard I thought I was going to pee!  He couldn't believe I hopped on his bike and started riding it all around so naturally he hung on for dear life....I only hit a tree twice no big deal.

And please mind the greasy dirty hair and no makeup if you will....I was in the mountains where in these parts people don't even shave!

Forgotten Face and a CUP of dough

I was scolded I mean yelled at, hollered at, teased, joked, tarred and feathered I mean it was brutal.....(okay the tar and feathers isn't true)

She said "where's my face" which made me think of that commercial with the little 'ol lady and the golden arches who was begging for her beef?!  I was like "there was a clever theme to the camping photos, it was kids only I mean I didn't think I was offending any adults by not posting their faces"....wrong!

Tracie didn't say that - the finger point was just her way of saying "howdy" and of course her version of sunscreen - a red shirt.  You should try it sometime I think it worked!

BTW - have you ever had a dough boy?  Oh my goodness oh my goodness!

Thanks to the Hartung Family - think toasty biscuit on a stick browned to perfection over the fire.

I personally think it's the adult version of a Smore.

You take a biscuit - experts say the bigger biscut the better it works- something like "king or country" ones or something - and you put it on the end of your closet rod that you have cut into 3rds to make 3 sticks (the pros called them dowels but I'm pretty sure Steve just left their clothes laying on the floor and stole the rods from their closets).

You gently brown it over the fire, continually turning the stick - the experts say there's an art I just aimed for not burning it.  When it comes off the stick easily your biscuit is baked to perfection!

Then you fill it with anything and everything you can think of.  Here's what was found in them on our camping trip:

strawberry jelly, apple pie filling, chocolate pudding, bananas, vanilla pudding, apricot something, cherry pie filling, whipped cream and then some more whipped cream, eggs, bacon (not with the whipped cream of course), nutella, and I'm sure I'm missing a ton of ingredients.

They were yummy let me tell ya - I mean after a dinner of Tri-tip and Deb's homemades beans I still managed to eat 2 of these....ugh!

But honestly......who could resist this face?

I know it's random but I had to include this photo of sweet Kate - mainly because I want to clone those lashes!!! 

Sad but TEMPTING CUP

Today is a sad day...a really sad day.  It's not life or death so I guess I need to keep it in perspective but it's still very sad.

You remember my gripping cliff hanger that left you begging for more right??  Well I had a bunch of pictures (hundreds actually) but you take hundreds to get a few - the beauty of digital - so I could show you what I've been up to lately.

The above isn't what I've been up to it's just to keep your attention so I don't lose you...yet!?

Well yesterday as I'm trying to retrieve these off my slick slim red external hard drive I tote around with me (yes I carry it everywhere because you never know when you need a picture of yourself on a bad hair day from 1997) well on this drive is the oh-so important and packed full of all my bad hair days folder titled "My Pictures" and it is EMPTY!  Did you hear me empty....talk about crickets!

I wanted to cry, I think a tear began to well up, I wanted to scream....I checked and re-checked a dozen times plugging it into 3 different computer and still the "My Pictures" folder is EMPTY!

We have an amazing IT stud at work that is currently doing some restore thing with the slim chance that when I plugged it in to my laptop at work that this is when the gremlins ate all my pictures.  I have some backed up but this little slim jim WAS MY BACK-UP!  So a ton could be lost.

And how sad you may never get your cliff hanger....I know life hurts sometimes!

sorry just another commerical break - sorry it's the TV biz in me right now..........

So right now I'm choosing to think about happy things and sometimes when I need something to make me happy I just want chocolate cake and nothing else can really take it's place.  But chocolate cake isn't an option today...thank goodness Ronnie isn't hiding any under her desk or that's where I'd be sitting right about now. 

So instead, I'm skimming through my "someday I want to cook or bake this" folder cuz as my life would have it......that folder is NOT empty!  It's packed full of things I can't have right now...darn diet!
