A Room a Month!

Yep...it's back!  Back by popular demand....well it's not really popular it's more demanded....by my house that is.  My house asked for it so I must make good on it.  It needs it.

Some people come over and think I'm super duper organized and tidy....they've just never opened up my sock drawer, or my linen closet, or looked under my rugs or sofa cushions.  You know when you hear an unexpected knock on the door and you scramble around to pick up?  Okay not really....I just never answer my door.

This weekend is the kick off....wish me luck!

 

Organize...Organize...and more Organize...or not!

So remember this post about my room-a-month schedule for organizing this year?  Are you curious about an update or perhaps you don't really care..... :).

I love organization.  I love how it feels when everything has it's proper place and everything is in it's proper place :).  I love the feeling of accomplishment when I sit down to relax because I finished my to-do list.

Well life has taken over.  Work has been busy.  I have been blessed with an amazing amount of business.  Priorities, other ones, have taken over coupled with a little bit of laziness.  Yes I'm a lazy bum sometimes.  I like my lazy days because those sweet moments don't come around very often (and I plan to have one this Sunday....I ain't gonna do nothin'!!).

As you can see by the cabinet I reorganized in my kitchen....it clearly wasn't meant for nail polishes and ribbon but......I'm choosing my battles. :)

Lately I've realized that I need to choose people more over my addiction to want to organize and check things off my list.   This isn't always easy for me - sometimes I'd rather hide away at home and "putz around my house" which is what  I call it, instead of being with people....especially when my free time is so limited. 

I'll get to this list - I need to but not as quickly as I had hoped.  That's okay it doesn't define who I am.  Accomplishments don't define me.  Check marks don't mean I've had a successful day, week or month.  Love does. 

Tonight I'll have 3 little blonde munchkins who have overdosed on the sugar I've given them.....running around my house while their pregnant mommy, who is due any day, and their daddy can have an overnight date night.  Chores will just have to wait!

I'm in love!

Yes it's true I have fallen deeply madly in love.

Didn't think it could happen but it did.

We connected through Facebook of all places.  Gotta love the internet and it's matchmaking abilities!

Didn't think it could happen for only $3.36 but it did.

I love bargains.

Love and it happened just in time for Valentines Day.

Love in the world of my kitchen.

I live in Saugus and well that means disgusting water which means lots of minerals and water deposits which makes for dishes that never seem to come clean.

I have a brand new dishwasher which I love and didn't want to believe it was the cause for my disgusting dishes.

I saw on FB the other day a chat about dishes and dishwashers and I chimed in for some serious help.   A few of my new best friends recommended this product to me:

Some said they found it at Vons - I found it at Super Walmart and for only $3 and change.

I mean look at what my dishwasher was doing to my cooking utensils??  Gross huh?  The spatula on the right was washed with my new LOVE!!

January - the GARAGE!

Well January was GARAGE month and to keep myself accountable I am posting an update...notice I said update and not outcome.

Cuz my schedule is flexible like that - ya I know on month #1.  My mom came into town unexpectedly for 10 days so my work time got a little limited - blame it on mom :).

I have done alot of work so far and if by the end of this post you're saying ummm it doesn't look that organized I might have to throw something atcha! :)

My dream would be to have the left side lined with pretty white cabinets that hide everything.  That was the plan but not in the Dave Ramsey's plan if you know what I mean!

Soooo it's an almost organized garage for now and pretty will have to wait! :).

My sis and her family came up for the weekend and helped me ALL DAY one Saturday.  HUGE blessing. 

I left candy and toys on the counter for when the kiddos arrived - always have to be working for Auntie of the year award ya know!  I'm good with bribes too :).

The beginning.....please don't judge.

My sis has the neatest writing and was labeling away - she even brought her label maker.  I'm not joking.

As a kid I was always jealous that she could write like a typewriter - she still does.

Her first request of the day....we MUST have music.  A woman after my own heart!

During the after Christmas sales I bought some plastic tubs....instead of my pretty white cabinets.  I splurged and spent $20.

I bought this clear one specifically for my ribbon.

During the coldest and wettest week of the year and the garage door broke so an updated pic will have to wait.

You know when I said it was garage month - a garage repair was not what I had in mind.

The Big Black book

I've gone back to it....I had to!

The spreadsheet I used last year just wasn't cutting it and too hard to use when I work from 3 different computers.

My iphone - not efficient enough for what I needed to juggle work, personal and biz....now the new ipad I'm sure that would make my life fabulous but my money won't be spent on that this year no can do.

So back to the old school I have gone.

Old school makes me happy though - it's comfortable. 

Kind of like my favorite jeans that are 2 sizes too big and have holes in the knees, at the pockets and between the legs and the cuffs are ripped up and the zipper doesn't stay up....you know that kind of comfortable...familiar....perfect!

It's baaaaaaaaaaaaack!

By popular demand - okay so none of you asked for it but my obsession and sickness with the need to be organized to the alphabetical-everything-has-it's-own-place T has kicked me into super high gear this year!  And I can rhyme once in awhile....gear this year...get it?  haha

Ok so here's the plan:

I'm not stressing myself out by trying to do it all in a month or a few weekends....this is just 15-20 minutes a day all year.  I'm so darn motivated and excited!!

Excited to organize?  I think I have a problem.
