Yesterday was THAT day yes it truly was THAT kind of day. I needed to get away...far far away. I wanted to run like Julie Andrews did over the hills - although I didn't feel much like singing the hills are alive.......
I needed this day like a baby needs milk (I couldn't think of a catchy phrase right now so you're stuck with baby's milk and maybe because I have Ashley on the brain who's going to deliver any day now). I needed these few hours away.....oh yes I did!
So my escape wasn't to some exotic island - I'll try that next time. On this day, my weekend escape was to the beach just for a couple hours but nevertheless it was an escape....you see I needed a heavenly sunset fix in a bad way. They refuel me and breath something into me like nothing else I know!
I took my normal friends with me and actually they've decided to go on all my weekend escapes this summer with me.....
Well at least they're normal on this day as far as I can tell....
I'm not holding them captive and she's not writing an SOS in the sand......she's writing a verse that we have all talked about alot lately....love that girl!!
We grabbed a picnic dinner on the way....but were sure to keep to the diet!!
I needed this day for no particular reason but it was calling my name - I love to sit and escape and watch the sunset - even though God gives us one everyday, some days you need to be still and soak it all in and not just watch it from the car on your commute home from work....
and no outing is nearly as fun if you don't bring along your camera.....
We kept finding new subjects to shoot
I"m sure I should have changed the lense for this shot and many others but with me and my novice camera ways...what you see is what you get :)
And this is what you get when you have to prop your camera on your car and set the timer - JoJo is fast runner!
You should see her leap tall buildings in a single bound (or is it bounce)? How do I not know this? She's a superhero alright well and sometimes a pretend mom with a stolen diaper bag but who's counting!
Back to the real reason for this post.....
it's almost eerie but oh so amazing
nooooooo not so fast sun.........
I needed these few minutes today and I needed them on the very edge, the edge of the water where I was the last one to see the sun drop....from the west coast anyway...
and just like that it was gone......
